Marble – no two slabs are the same, it has always been a material of choice for creating luxury spaces especially bathrooms. Today white marble is still one of the trendiest choices out there. Carerra, Calacutta, Thassos, Bianco Venata, – marble bathroom implies quality and “no expense spared” feel. No matter the scale or budget, there are some ways to make your bathroom look and feel like a luxury spa by emphasizing its elegance with marble. White marble can serve as a beautiful background or be a star on its own.
1. The easiest and probably the cheapest way to incorporate marble in your bathroom design is adding a marble slab counter to your existing vanity or just installing a new one. It will give your bathroom an instant lift.
2. To update an existing bathroom create a focus wall. Use a marble slab, large tiles or mosaic and install it either on an empty wall or behind main fixtures; just adding an accent such as a vertical stripe of white marble in the shower or a backsplsh above a vanity will make a difference.

3. Using white marble mosaic will enhance any bathroom. There are so many different types of mosaic – hexagon, subway tile, fish scale, simple squares. Combine it with other tile or standalone, use it as an accent or a main feature – your bathroom will look chic and elegant.

4. Marble floors lend a luxury feel to your bathroom. Depending on the design of your bathroom you can choose mosaic or tile. But there are other considerations as well. Marble is not a maintenance free material. It’s soft and absorbent, it might stain or get scratched easily – consider traffic and your willingness to provide additional care.

5. As far as the paint, choose colors wisely. For a modern tone-on-tone look choose colors that complement the undertones of marble. Usually white marble has some blue/grey hues. The “easiest” choice seems to be an all white bathroom. In fact it could be the hardest to implement. The grey and especially the brown hues found in white marble can be overpowered and conflicting by crisp whites on your walls or furniture. There are different variations of white paint. Find the one that complements the undertones of your particular marble tile.

6. Add accents in complementing shades of grey or sea-foam or blue, or contrasting shades of peach or pink or any other color you favor.

7. Choosing the grout for white marble tile or mosaic can be a difficult task as well. Stay away from grays. It might make your tile look dirty. Soft Cream could work but really playing with matching undertones may change the appearance of the marble tile.

Modern bathroom, transitional or traditional –  white marble will help you create a wonderful room.
