Minimalist home: 7 simple steps to build a minimalist home

“Less is more”… this is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a minimalist home. Minimalism means simplicity of style which is anything but simple. If clean lines and simple geometric shapes attract you, and you hate clutter in your home, minimalistic style is for you. Here are 7 steps to build a minimalist home:

1.Choose a very simple color palette, either monochromatic or with one or two color accents, such as an accent wall.
2.Choose furniture that is very functional and limit it to a very few pieces. A table, chairs, a bed. Nothing extra.
3.The same principle applies to accessories. For example, on your counter put a coffeemaker instead of a collection of pretty cans.
4.Clear all the surfaces. Leave a vase on the table, a plant in the corner, again put functionality above other parameters.
5.Keep the walls bare, one big print or a piece of art will make your room even more interesting.
6.Minimalism often goes hand in hand with modern design. Modern furniture and accessories work well in the minimalist home.
7.Don’t put rugs on your floors. If you still need to cover the floors because they are not in good condition or too cold, choose a rug that is very simple and matches color palette of the entire room.

Achieving the right degree of minimalism in your home is not a simple task. You might want to add or subtract some details as you go. As a result, you will be rewarded with a stylish and timeless space devoid of clutter and with plenty of character.
